I don't use NBT, I use player persistent variables. NBT reset if the player dies or goes to another dimension, it may also reset if they go into spectator (possibly) because the entity model would technically not be there possibly so using global variables should work better. Regarding cameras, you need a tone of variables to store many aspects of things such as game mode, rotation, position, monitor location etc. there are more variables than I can count that went into this mod its really a pain to go through but its not something easy to develop mod wise.
Hey, I'm in 1.16.5 and noticed a problem, I can turn cameras on and off and use a floppy disc on them, but I can't put them on the monitor, I think it's on because when I right-click on it with nothing in my hand it works I just can't connect things to it, I right-click on it with the floppy discs that I have connected to a camera but all that pops up is something like: "To use this, right-click on a camera or monitor block" even though I am. Also. whenever I try to view cameras even though I have no cams connected it removes all the items in my inventory.
I can't guarantee stable updates on the older versions. Not many people report issues on GitHub so I don't find all of them until later in development when I find them I fix things but for 1.16.5 I don't even have a way to roll back to that mod to fix anything. Also developing for more than two versions is hard enough supporting 1.16.5 or 1.12.2 would be a nightmare.
Thanks to your YouTube tutorials I was able to do many things. Congratulations on the MOTW.
